Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is a weld overlay cladding system?
A weld overlay cladding system is an automated welding solution designed to apply a corrosion- or wear-resistant layer (also known as a clad layer) onto the surface of a base metal component. Using advanced TIG hot wire technology, the system precisely deposits filler material to reinforce or restore parts such as pipes, valves, flanges, and pressure vessels—without compromising the base structure. These systems are essential for enhancing service life and performance in harsh industrial environments.
What is a weld overlay cladding system used for?
Weld overlay cladding systems are primarily used to protect critical components from corrosion, erosion, high temperatures, and chemical exposure. They are widely used in the repair or fabrication of internal pipe surfaces, valve bodies, flanges, and pressure-retaining parts, especially in industries where component failure could result in operational downtime, safety risks, or costly replacements.
What are the benefits of investing in a weld overlay cladding system?
Investing in a weld overlay cladding system offers several key benefits:
- Extended equipment lifespan by protecting against wear and corrosion
- Reduced maintenance and replacement costs over time
- Higher weld quality and consistency with automated control
